Team ADC turns out for 2012 Heart Walk

ADC staff members and their families turned out Saturday to support the American Heart Association‘s Heart Walk in downtown Austin.

ADC’s cardiology department drummed up support and raised $490 for the Heart Walk which will go to help the AHA reduce deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The AHA’s has a goal to reduce those deaths by 20 percent by the year 2020.

The walk started and finished on the South 1st Street bridge in downtown Austin.


Many walkers brought their pets. This basset hound, named Fenway, cheerfully joined Team ADC.

Before the walk began, dozens of red and white balloons were released into the air.

ADC’s team was called the “Heart Beats Got Rhythm” and was led by the cardiology department.
