Ear, Nose and Throat specialists: Focusing on the treatment of the head and neck for adults and children

According to the American Academy of  Otolaryngology (ENT) – Head and Neck Surgery, Otolaryngology (also commonly known as  ENT)  is the oldest medical specialty in the United States.   These highly specialized doctors are trained in the management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck.  If you think you need to be seen by an ENT, contact us at 512-901-4006 for more information or an appointment.  Since ENTs are considered specialists, you may need a referral to be seen.  Check with your insurance plan for details.

What does an ENT treat?

Otolaryngologists diagnose and manage the following:

  • Nose: Allergy, sinus infection, breathing, tumors, cosmetic surgery and reconstruction, and disorders of taste and smell
  • Ears: Balance disorders, infections, tumors, repair of external ear deformities, and hearing testing and treatment by surgery or with hearing aids
  • Throat & Voice Box: Swallowing and breathing problems, infections, tumors, birth defects, speech and voice diagnostics and therapy
  • Neck: Tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, saliva-producing glands, and other neck tumors
  • Mouth: Fractures of the jaw and other facial bones, diseases of the mouth and repair birth defects
  • Skin and Face: Cancer, cosmetic surgery (face lift, skin resurfacing, eyelid surgery), and rehabilitation of facial paralysis
