Here are four easy ways to keep your health in check:
  • Eat the colors of the rainbow. Good nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains and unsaturated fats on a daily basis can keep the risk for cardiovascular diseases at bay.
  • Stay strong, stay active. Exercising about 30 minutes at least five days a week significantly increases your cardiovascular health. Find a routine you enjoy and join a community that has similar goals. They’ll keep you accountable to your actions and, long-term, have better health.
  • Establish lifestyle changes. Smoking cessation, reducing alcohol consumption and managing stress are all strategies to reduce your risk for cardiovascular complications over time. The first step is to find professionals in your neighborhood who specialize in these areas.

  1. I want to make sure that I keep my heart taken care of. It makes sense that I would want to start by eating a variety of foods! Humans need to eat an amount of everything, after all.
