Smoking and Tobacco Policy

ADC’s Smoking and Tobacco Policy

Most major healthcare facilities in the Austin area became smoke and tobacco-free on Thursday, November 15, 2007.

The ADC Board of Directors supported this move and voted to include all ADC places of business in this initiative.

Patients, visitors, vendors, staff members and physicians are prohibited from smoking and using tobacco products (including e-cigarettes or other e-smoking devices) not only within the facility, but the surrounding and adjacent grounds of each campus at which ADC operates its business. Exceptions are noted below.

For campuses affected by this policy, the surrounding and adjacent grounds include the designated parking lots and spaces, as well as any and all vehicles parked or operated in the designated parking lots and spaces.

Exceptions

Certain leased campuses are not, at this time, affected by this additional designation.
