Ob/gyn elected to ADC Board of Directors

ADC Pediatrician recognized for Distinguished Service; Ob/Gyn elected to Board

The Austin Diagnostic Clinic held its Annual meeting February 19, 2015.  All physicians were invited to attend.   ADC Board Chairman Dr. Laura Guerrero opened the meeting by welcoming everyone.  She acknowledged outgoing Board Member, and former Board Chairman, Paul Moore, MD, Endocrinologist for his ten years of service to the Clinic.

Dr. Patrick Nolan, neurologist and Board Member, was assisted by ADC Pediatrician, Dr. Vanessa Chiapetta, to then announce the Distinguished Service Award Recipient for pediatrician Dr. Juan Guerrero.  Dr. Guerrero joined ADC in 1989 and has served his department as section chief for the past 17 years.  He has been recognized for numerous awards including Best Doctors, Inc., Texas Monthly Super Doctors, and most recently “For the Love of Babies Award” by Hand to Hold, a support group for parents of premature babies.  His generosity extends to his work with the Volunteer Health Clinic, where he also served as vice-president, as well as numerous other charitable organizations. During the presentation, Dr. Guerrero was surprised by the arrival of his three brothers, their extended family and his staff.   Our sincere congratulations to Dr. Juan Guerrero.

 

New ADC Board Member Yvette Schieffer, MD, Ob/gyn

ADC ob/gyn, Yvette Gutierrez-Schieffer is elected to Board of Directors

Additionally, ADC’s physician shareholders held elections to fill two seats on the Board. Rheumatologist, Dr. Monty Tew was re-elected to his seat and Ob/Gyn physician, Dr. Yvette Schieffer-Gutierrez was elected to fill the open seat vacated by Dr. Moore’s ending term on the Board.  Dr. Schieffer joined the Clinic in 1993 and has also served as section chief for the Ob/Gyn section.  She is a native Austinite who grew up with The Austin Diagnostic Clinic as the clinic that cared for her parents and family.  Determined to join ADC after medical school, she remains a dedicated physician to the Clinic and our patients.
