New Chief Information Officer joins ADC

Thomas Thrower, CIO, The Austin Diagnostic ClinicADC officials say Thomas Thrower will take the position of Chief Information Officer in late May 2014.

Thomas Thrower has been successfully leading Health Information Technology (HIT) efforts for the past 25 years. He most recently served as CIO for Ascension Health Ministries in Pasco, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho, where he helped those integrated systems achieve Meaningful Use across both acute and ambulatory care environments. Prior to being promoted into his CIO role, he served Ascension’s Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin between 2006 and 2011 as an IT Director leading a broad range of complex programs and projects. Thomas has served in key IT leadership roles as well at Albany Medical Center and Faculty Practice in upstate New York, UTMB Health Plans in Houston-Galveston, and Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Thomas is a graduate of Texas State University, where he received a BBA in Computer Information Systems. He is also a military veteran, having served in the US Army and US Army Reserve.
