The Austin Diagnostic Clinic will have two new  pediatricians in Steiner Ranch when its  new clinic opens later this year.

One of the pediatricians we are excited to welcome is Dr. Theresa Willis, Pediatrics.

Dr. Willis is a native Texan and UT Longhorn. She grew up in the Dallas area and went to the University of Texas at Austin where she met her husband.

She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and member of the AmericanAcademy of Pediatrics. She earned her degree and did her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. But she has a very diverse background.

“Prior to my medical training, I taught elementary school and did speech therapy with elementary aged children,” she said. “I attended Baylor College of Medicine and did my Pediatric Residency at BCM, primarily at Texas Children’s Hospital. During my medical education, I also published a research paper in neonatal nutrition.”

Dr. Willis will see her young patients full time at ADC Steiner Ranch when it opens. She says she decided to join ADC because the organization supports excellent patient care, which is a huge benefit for her patients.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to be a part of the community and seeing my patients and families as they grow and develop over time,” she said. “I absolutely love talking with my patients and their families. Watching kids growing up healthy is one of the biggest rewards of my job and I consider it a real privilege to be a part of that.”

What does Dr. Willis enjoy doing in her spare time?

“I have a rather unusual hobby, I’m a competitive power lifter!” she said. “I discovered the sport a couple of years ago and now I hold several state records in my age/weight bracket. My husband and I enjoy working out together, hiking and sampling the fantastic restaurants in Austin.”
