Several new doctors have joined ADC in 2014, including a new family practice physician at Steiner Ranch.

Brenna Gerdelman, MD, Family Practice, Steiner Ranch

Brenna Gerdelman, MD

Dr. Brenna Gerdelman sees patients along with Dr. Vimal George at the clinic off RM 620 in West Austin. Dr. Gerdelman began seeing patients at ADC in March. We asked her about her transition to ADC and what she would like patients to know about her.

Why did you choose ADC?

I chose ADC because I respect ADC’s commitment to providing excellent patient care.  I believe that ADC offers the opportunity to provide that care by providing an excellent staff, wonderful facilities and ancillary services while also creating a culture that supports physicians and allows physicians to have a good quality of life.

I believe that ADC is not primarily driven by financial motives. I believe that from the CEO to the medical assistants — every employee takes pride in taking good care of patients.

What is your practice philosophy?

I believe in providing evidence-informed healthcare, using high-quality research to inform the clinical decision-making process. ADC is committed to using best available research evidence to develop programs that allow all their healthcare providers to be providing state-of-the-art care for patients.

In my practice, I integrate research evidence with my individual expertise, and, of course, my patients’ values and expectations to build plans of care.  I believe that when the patient is involved in forming a plan of care and understands the basis for the plan of care, that plan is much more successful. I enjoy working with my patients and I enjoy their successes.

I became a family practice physician because I enjoy taking care of patients of all ages. I am very proud to say that I have several families in which I take care of three generations. It allows me the opportunity to treat a wide variety of illnesses and also allows me to have a focus on preventative medicine. In many cases, the best cure is prevention. I enjoy helping people get healthy and stay healthy.

What do you want ADC patients to know about you?

When I am not at work, I am with my three amazing children and my wonderful husband getting out and enjoying all that Austin has to offer — paddleboarding on Lake Austin, throwing a disc in the park, or hanging out beside the pool.

Dr. Gerdelman currently sees patients at ADC Steiner Ranch Monday-Friday.
