Lyn Hamp

Lyn Hamp, ADC Clinical Manager

Every month, The Austin Diagnostic Clinic recognizes a staff member who is making a difference. In June, ADC recognized Lyn Hamp, Clinical Manager for OB/GYN, Neurology, Physical Medicine, Urology and the Menopause and Osteoporosis Center.

Hamp is originally from South Africa. She received her training there and earned a 3-year diploma in Nursing. She is also a registered Nurse Midwife.

“I also have a Certification in In-Patient Obstetrics,” she said. “Most of my 37 years of nursing has been in Obstetrics.”

Hamp has been working at ADC since 1994. Currently, she manages a staff of 30 people.

“I cannot imagine working anywhere else, and I hope to retire here. We really are one big family, and our common goal is to take care of our patients,” Hamp said. “I work with great staff, and wonderful providers. We get along, and we strive to provide excellent care.

“Every day presents new challenges, and I get to do a variety of things. There is never a dull moment in my day. I love what I do.”

In her spare time, Hamp enjoys volunteer work. She has visited Honduras seven times and practiced as a midwife, providing care and education to women. In the past, she has also volunteered  as a Victims Services Advocate at the Pflugerville Police Department.

“It is so rewarding to feel that I might help make a difference in someone’s life,” she said.
