Leader of the Month: Michael Ayala

Michael Ayala ADC IT ManagerMichael oversees 9 associates in Networking, Telecom, Desktop, Help Desk

I am responsible for the ongoing operation and support of all IT infrastructure, including networking, telephone, servers, storage, field services, and help desk. Support for the department, ensuring that processes are in place across the department to proactively monitor and address issues while also responding to and escalating reported issues.

Where is your hometown? I moved here from Chicago this past December and I currently reside in Austin.

Give us an overview of your education or special training: I achieved my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Aurora University and my MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.

What has been your favorite thing about ADC/Austin so far? One of the favorite things about being at ADC is the associates. Everyone here has been very welcoming and that means a lot since I am new to the organization and Austin.

What are your goals for your department? Some of the goals I have for my department are as follows:
a. Develop New Procedures and Standards within IT Infrastructure
b. Develop Statistics for Transparency, Accountability and Results
c. Develop SLA (Service Level Agreement)
d. Develop New Project Management Procedures
e. Develop New Documentation Procedures & Standards
f. Develop a Process to Reduce IT Infrastructure Costs
g. Develop Standard Communication Process to Users
h. Associate Development & Training

Do you have a work or personal philosophy? My personal philosophy: Anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

What is the one thing you want people to know about you? I am a huge baseball fan and my favorite team is the New York Yankees! I also play semi-pro baseball for a Toronto Blue Jays affiliate.

What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Star Wars and looking forward to the new movie coming out in December.
