Leader of Month: My Le

My Le, ADC Practice Manager

My Le

Each month ADC recognizes a manager or leader who makes an impact at ADC.  For September 2014, ADC chose My Le.

My was born in Indonesia.  At the age of one month, her family moved to Denver, Colorado where she was raised. She is the Practice Manager for ADC Westlake and is responsible for Dermatology, Endocrinology, Internal Medicine and the Front Desk at that location.  She manages eighteen staff members.

My  graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2002 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After that, she received her Real Estate license in 2005 and worked as an Associate Broker for two years while also working in the life insurance industry for six years. My earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2009.  She has nursing experience in med/surg, hemo/peritoneal dialysis and home health.

As a manager, My enjoys being around the people that she works with. She says it makes coming into work fun. She  enjoys the different personalities that are here and helps them through the challenges that they may face with working at a satellite location and feeling disconnected at times.

“I’m glad I can provide them with support and encouragement when it’s needed,” she said. “I love the people at ADC. That’s ultimately what brought me back two years ago. I also like being able to combine patient care with managing my team.”

When asked what she loved to do, My said, ” I love to eat, so I definitely enjoy dining out. I like to read in my spare time and love spending time with my dog- Lucy and cat- Ricky (who are my babies). I haven’t really been able to explore Austin that much. Back in Colorado, I enjoyed skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking.”

On a further personal note, she would like to enjoy the water activities that Austin has to offer and plans to sign up for swim lessons.  That still hasn’t happened yet since she is terrified of the water, but her goal is to learn before another year passes.  Another goal she has?  To exercise more and learn how to eat healthier.

My loves Austin.  She said it took awhile to get used to the traffic, but says the city is a very laid-back compared to Denver.  She is still trying to adjust to the heat and humidity, but  is happy to be here and definitely glad to call Austin her new home.
