The Austin Diagnostic Clinic Leader of the Month for May 2014 is  James Blake Korndorffer.

Blake, as he prefers to be called,  is the Administrator for Family Practice, Pediatrics, Audiology, Ophthalmology and the Optical Shop and Administrative Support for ADC Steiner Ranch and Cedar Bend.  Overall he manages 130 staff members.

Blake is from League City, Texas which is about 25 miles South of Houston and 15 miles North of Galveston. He received his degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas in Health Administration. Some of his training includes Lean methods and management as well as Clinical Safety and Effectiveness (CS&E).  He joined ADC in May 2014 after having worked at UTMB in Galveston.

We asked Blake what he liked most about working at ADC.

“In my short time with ADC, I have noticed how much of a family atmosphere is ingrained into the culture of ADC. I have also noticed in each of the clinics that I have visited so far, the way in which our patients are welcomed and treated which in turn shows our efforts to be patient centered,” he said.

While still in the process of meeting everyone and making it out to all of the clinics, Blake is very excited about working towards goals set by ADC’s Strategic Plan for 2014.  His goal for this year is to familiarize himself with ADC and, to the best of his ability, support the organization in achieving its goals.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.  Blake’s family like to be outdoors as much as possible and are looking forward to all that the Hill Country has to offer.

“It was tough for us to leave the Hill Country after we finished school and it feels great for us to be back in this area and to be able to raise our children here,” he said.

He is very happy to be back in Austin and the surrounding areas.  And, as Longhorn fans, he and his family look forward to going to games and not have a three hour drive back home.   Hook ’em Blake- we are glad you’re here!
