The Austin Diagnostic Clinic’s physician shareholders Tuesday elected Dr. Todd Sheer, gastroenterology, to serve a five-year term on ADC’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Sheer takes the seat of outgoing Board member Dr. Jerry Hood, Internal Medicine, who has served five years on the board.

Dr. Sheer joined ADC in 2008. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He then served his internship, residency and two fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA.

“We are honored to have Dr. Sheer join the Board of Directors. We look forward to his new perspective and dedication to the Clinic,” said Dr. Ghassan Salman, ADC Chief Executive Officer.

Also during Tuesday night’s meeting, ADC physicians recognized two doctors for their dedication to the Clinic.

Dr. Everett Heinze, Neurology, earned the Distinguished Service Award — considered ADC’s Physician of the Year award — for 2013. Dr. Heinze has been with the clinic for 41 years.

Dr. Shubhada Shrikhande, Hematology/Oncology, was nominated by her peers for the ADC “Good Pick Up Award.”

“Dr. Shrikhande was honored for the dedication and persistence she demonstrated in determining the origin of a patient’s metastatic cancer,” said Dr. Paul Moore, Endocrinology and Chairman of the Board. “We congratulate all of these physicians on their well-deserved recognitions.”
