ADC addresses ebola concerns

ADC’s Response to Ebola Concerns

Ebola Facts in the US

The Austin Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) doctors are aware of the concerns our patients and staff have regarding the recent Ebola diagnosis in Dallas, Texas.  Although the likelihood of infection is minimal in the U.S., we want to assure you that ADC is taking precautions to safeguard your health.  Central Texans should not be concerned with widespread infection as, unlike in the affected African nations; it can be more easily contained.

Our executive team is working with our primary care staff to educate them on the spread of this virus as well as preventive and screening measures regarding patient care.  We will continue to monitor the disease and update our staff and patients as it is warranted.

Some facts you should know:

Ebola is NOT spread through the air, in water or food.

You can only get Ebola from:

  1. Touching the blood or body fluids of a person sick with the virus or who has died from Ebola.
  2. Touching contaminated needles and objects.
  3. Touching infected animals, their blood or other body fluids, or their meat.
