Each year the Girl Scouts celebrates women who have distinguished themselves through individual excellence and high levels of achievement.  Recipients serve as role models for girls, young women and adults by exemplifying that hard work, determination and character can create successful leaders and contributing members of society for the future. This year, Dr. Beth Nauert, mother, pediatrician, volunteer and Girl Scout leader, was nominated by the Center for Child Protection for her many years of helping the most vulnerable children in Travis County.  Dr. Nauert provides consultations, evaluations, and education for groups and individuals in the medical, legal and law enforcement on behalf of abused children.

Recognizing a need and helping those with no voice

Early in her career, Dr. Nauert realized there was a lack of resources available for the evaluation of abused children.   She developed a special interest in training for the evaluation of child abuse and began working with what would become the Child Abuse Protection Program clinic.  This service is now part of Dell Children’s MedicalCenter.   She is one of 250 doctors certified nationwide for this type of evaluation and served on the Board for the Center for Child Protection.

Compassionate care for her patients

Compassionate care and excellence in her specialty of pediatrics have also earned Dr. Nauert recognition as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor from 2006-13; Best Doctors, Inc. from 2004-13; Patients’ Choice Award from 2008-13 and in 2012 she was awarded The Austin Diagnostic Clinic Distinguished Service Award by her colleagues. We are so proud to have Dr. Beth Nauert as a member of the exemplary pediatric department at The Austin Diagnostic Clinic.
