Every month, The Austin Diagnostic Clinic recognizes a staff member who is making a difference.

In October, ADC recognized Danielle Fryer, RN and Clinical Manager for Endocrinology, ENT, Internal Medicine and Travel Clinic.

Fryer was born in New York, but she says she considers Austin to be home. She earned her BS in Microbiology from The University of Texas and worked for 14 years for local People’s Pharmacy, a compounding pharmacy.

Fryer said nursing always called to her and she returned to school for training. She first worked at North Austin Medical Center’s Renal, Diabetic & Transplant floor before transitioning to ADC’s Travel Clinic.

“While in Travel Clinic, I was the first person in the greater Austin area to earn a Certificate in Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine,” she said.

Fryer now manages a team of 33 nurses and medical assistants who support 21 providers.

“Each section is a joy! I have been blessed with a great group of nurses and medical assistants,” she said.

In her free time, Fryer says she enjoys being outside with her family.

“Fishing, swimming, hiking, riding horses or just swinging in a hammock!” she said. And she has a few goals for 2014. “I have my sights set on completing a few foot or obstacle races in the coming year for fun.”
