ADC leader interviewed about kidney transplant wait

ADC’s CEO, Bob Spurck, was recently interviewed on KVUE for an investigative piece about the wait time in Austin for kidney transplants.

The report, which aired November 22, 2012, examined the average wait for a transplant across metropolitan areas in Texas and found that Austin had the longest duration with six years.

Spurck, who oversees all operations at ADC, was previously head of University Medical Center Brackenridge, and he helped open the region’s first kidney transplant center there in 1972.

Spurck commented that things need to change so that Austin patients can receive transplants more quickly.
