I enjoy being a pediatrician because it gives me an opportunity to work with a family from the newborn period though childhood and adolescence. Throughout this journey, I hope to be able to provide support, guidance and education to the parents and to the child. I believe strongly in prevention of illness and injury, as well as providing a healthy environment for a child's emotional and intellectual development. I believe that check-ups are for far more than just immunizations - they give us the opportunity to screen for any problems with the child's growth or development, as well as to answer the parents' questions and concerns. I also enjoy caring for children when they are ill, and am comfortable treating acute and chronic illness. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to care for my patients and their families.
