What is Keep
Austin Cool?
The
Austin Diagnostic Clinic and partner
KXAN,
Channel 36 have joined together to support
Family Eldercare's 17th Annual Summer
Fan Drive. Through this program fans are
distributed to low-income elders, persons with disabilities
and families with young children living on a fixed income.
Last year ADC physicians and staff donated $2015.00; that
translated to over 176 fans for needy families!
Family Eldercare is already
receiving requests for fans from those who suffer in their
homes from stifling temperatures. In 2006, with your
help, Family Eldercare provided over 7,200 fans and 93 window
units to more than 3,100 households in 7 counties.
How
Can You Help?
Family Eldercare is requesting new oscillating fans (sorry no
used fans will be accepted) or monetary donations. A new fan
purchased through Family Eldercare costs $12.50, however any
donation amount will be gratefully accepted. Donations can be
made online at
www.familyeldercare.org
or
www.kxan.com
