AUSTIN, TX— The Austin Diagnostic
Clinic has once again scored big in two comprehensive surveys of
the top peer-recommended physicians statewide and nationally.
A total of 30 ADC physicians were recognized as either “Super
Doctors™” in 2009 by Texas Monthly, or as “Best Doctors in
America®” in 2009-10 by the Boston-based group Best Doctors,
Inc. There were 17 ADC physicians named “Super Doctors,” while
24 doctors received the “Best Doctors in America” moniker.
Eleven ADC physicians were
cited on both lists. Of those making the lists, all but two
received the same dual recognition last year.
“The Austin Diagnostic Clinic is once again honored to have some
of our physicians recognized for excellence by their peers,”
says Ghassan Salman, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for ADC. “We’re
very proud of the professionalism and talent we have here at
ADC.”
The “Super Doctors” list will appear in the December 2009 issue
of Texas Monthly. The list is based on a survey of more than
40,000 doctors who were asked to nominate one or more doctors
other than themselves from specified medical specialties, based
on the answer to the question: “If you needed medical care,
which doctor would you choose?”
About 45,000 doctors were selected through a peer-review process
to be on the bi-annual “Best Doctors in America” list.
Physicians were asked to identify specialists who are considered
to be the most skilled in their fields and most qualified for
reviewing and treating complex medical conditions. Nationally,
only five percent of doctors earned the designation.
