ADC Quality Report Card
Internal Medicine
Diabetes – Preventing Complications through Blood Sugar Control

Why It’s Important:

Over 21 million Americans have diabetes and because diabetes is with you 24/7, knowing what to do to keep it in control is one of the cornerstones of quality care. Diabetes control management can be divided into three categories:

Diabetes Assessment: Have your blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and kidney function tested routinely

Diabetes Target Attainment: Reach target goals set by the American Diabetes Association for your blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and kidney function

Diabetes Complication Prevention: Avoid complications from diabetes by smoking cessation and being current on your flu vaccination, pneumococcus vaccination, eye exams, and foot exams

How Does Internal Medicine at The Austin Diagnostic Clinic Measure Up?

Through continued quality intervention from our physicians, patients of the Internal Medicine department beat the national average in all three categories of Assessment, Target Attainment, and Complication Prevention.

What You Can Do:

If you think you are at risk for diabetes, or you have diabetes and need help managing it, make an appointment at The Internal Medicine Clinic to check your blood sugar. Let us help you manage your health.
