Purpose:  Gallium is sometimes used to image infections. 

Preparation:  There is no prep for this exam. 

Appointment Length:  This involves several appointments. 

	Initially, gallium is injected into the patient.
	The patient returns 24 hours later for the scan.
	Sometimes a 4-hour or a 48-hour scan is required in addition to the 24 hour.
	Scan time is approximately 1 hour.
