Bone Spect

Preparation:  No preparation is required for this exam. 

Dress:  Patient should wear comfortable 2-piece clothing and avoid metal on clothes such as snaps or jewelry. 

Appointment Length:  This exam involves two appointments.  The patient first arrives for the injection of the radiotracer, which is administered into a vein in the arm.  APPT 1 should take approximately 15-20 minutes.  APPT 2 is scheduled two to three hours later for the actual scan.  Scanning takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
