A gastroenterologist is a
physician who specializes in disorders and conditions of the gastrointestinal
tract, including the stomach, esophagus, small and large bowel, intestines,
liver, pancreas and associated organs.
After completing their general medical
education, they train for at least three (3) years to attain
board certification in internal medicine. Gastroenterologists study specifically for conditions of the gastrointestinal tract,
non-surgical treatments and endoscopic therapeutics.
