What is a Podiatrist or Doctor of
Podiatric Medicine (DPM)?
Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs) are physicians who
are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle disorders and
governing structures by medical, surgical, or ancillary means. The education
for DPMs include a four years undergraduate degree, followed by four years
in an accredited podiatric medical school and hospital-based residency
training program. DPMs are licensed in all 50 states, the District of
